PURI

One of the most sacred pilgrimage sites for Hindus, Puri also known as Jagannath Puri, is located in the state of Odisha. Famous for the Jagannath temple, Puri is believed to be the final resting place of Lord Vishnu. Unsurprisingly then, it is a very important place of worship for the Hindus.

The ancient land of Lord Jagannatha, Puri is amongst the most popular pilgrimage destinations of the country. Being one of the sacred 'Char Dham' pilgrimage sites, Puri is dotted with several old temples that carry great religious, historical and architectural value.

KONARK

The Konark or Konarak Sun temple is dedicated to the Hindu sun god Surya, and, conceived as a giant stone chariot with 12 wheels, it is the most famous of the few sun temples built in India. It is located about 35 km northeast of the city of Puri on the coastline in the state of Odisha (earlier Orissa).

So the dharmapada decided to sacrifice his life by kampung from the top of the temple in the chandrabhava river and save the 1200 workers from getting beheaded. Since that time the temple become unholy with the death of dharmapada. Sun god never worshipped there.

FAMOUS FOOD

Khicede. The main dish offered to Lord Jagannath at the temple in Puri, the Khicede (or Khichdi) is a versatile dish loved throughout Odisha, not just Bhubaneswar. A mash of rice and lentils, it can be eaten on its own or served with papad and pickle.

 

Day 1
Bhubaneswar Rly. Station / Airport - Puri
Day 01: Bhubaneswar Rly. Station / Airport - Puri (60 Kms. / 2 Hrs.) Meet & Greet on arrival at Bhubaneswar Railway Station / Airport and transfer to Puri. In the evening visit the Lord Jagannath Temple built in 15th Century AD and crowned with Vishnu’s wheel & flag dominate the landscape at Puri. Overnight stay will be at Puri.
Day 2
Puri - Konark Sightseeing
Day 02: Puri - Konark Sightseeing (36 Kms. / 1 Hrs. one-way drive) In the morning visit The Shree Jagannath Temple which is an important Hindu temple dedicated to Jagannath, a form of Vishnu, in Puri. Later drive to the famous Sun Temple at Konark, a world heritage site managed by UNESCO which attracts around one lakh devotee’s every day. Also visit the famous Chandrabhaga Beach and enjoy the marvelous view. In the evening, you can enjoy long stretch of golden beach at Puri, shallow enough to walk a long distance with superb surf. Evening free for shopping at Sea side where you can get some unique ornaments & showpieces made of Shell. Overnight stay will be at Puri.
Day 3
Puri - Bhubaneswar via Sakhigopal
Day 03: Puri - Bhubaneswar via Sakhigopal (95 Kms. / 7 Hrs.) After breakfast check-out from hotel and proceed to Bhubaneswar enroute visiting Sakhigopal Temple, Pipli (the applique village), Dhauli, Lingaraj Temple and Nandankanan. On arrival check in to hotel. Overnight stay will be at Bhubaneswar.
Day 4
Bhubaneswar Hotel - Bhubaneswar Rly. Station / Airport
Day 04: Bhubaneswar Hotel - Bhubaneswar Rly. Station / Airport After breakfast Check-out from hotel and take the departure transfers to Bhubaneswar Railway Station / Airport for your onward journey.
