KATHMANDU

Kathmandu is and has been for many years the centre of Nepal's history, art, culture, and economy. It has a multi-ethnic population within a Hindu and Buddhist majority. Religious and cultural festivities form a major part of the lives of people residing in Kathmandu. The city is considered the gateway to the Nepalese Himalayas and is home to several world heritage sites: the Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath and Pashupatinath.

CLIMATE

  • Five major climatic regions are found in Nepal. Of these, Kathmandu Valley is in the Warm Temperate Zone (elevation ranging from 1,200 to 2,300 metres (3,900 to 7,500 ft)), where the climate is fairly temperate, atypical for the region.
  • The city generally has a climate with warm days followed by cool nights and mornings. Unpredictable weather is expected, given that temperatures can drop to 1 °C (34 °F) or less during the winter.
  • Rainfall is mostly monsoon-based (about 65% of the total concentrated during the monsoon months of June to September), and decreases substantially (100 to 200 cm (39 to 79 in)) from eastern Nepal to western Nepal.

MUSIC

Kathmandu is the center of music and dance in Nepal, and these art forms are integral to understanding the city. Musical performances are organized in cultural venues. Music is a part of the traditional aspect of Kathmandu. Gunla is the traditional music festival according to Nepal Sambat. Newar music originated in Kathmandu. Furthermore, music from all over Nepal can be found in Kathmandu.

Some of the traditional festivals observed in Kathmandu, apart from those previously mentioned, are Bada Dashain, Tihar, Chhath, Maghe Sankranti, Nag Panchami, Janai Purnima, Pancha Dan, Teej/Rishi Panchami, Pahan Charhe, Jana Baha Dyah Jatra (White Machchhendranath Jatra), and Matatirtha Aunsi.[56]

NEPALGUNJ

Nepalgunj ([ne?pal??nd?z]), also spelled Nepalganj, is a Sub-Metropolitan City in Banke District, Nepal. It lies on the Terai plains near the southern border with Bahraich district in Uttar Pradesh, India. Nepalgunj is 153 kilometers south-west of Ghorahi and 16 km south of Kohalpur.

CULTURE AND RELIGION

Nepalgunj has a diverse culture with people from different faiths living within mixed communities. Hinduism and Islam are two major religions in the city, with Hindus comprising the larger percentage of the population. The city also has followers of other religions like Buddhism, Sikhism and Christianity. People of different ethnicity are known to have traditionally lived together, without any significant conflicts. Muslim have grown in unprecedented numbers in the region.

Nepalgunj Airport is located 6 km north of the city centre. The airport was officially named Mahendra Airport after the late King Mahendra, but it is commonly referred to as Ranjha Airport.

CLIMATE

Nepalgunj has a sub-tropical climate. Temperatures sometimes exceed 40 °C (104 °F) from April to June. During the rainy season—arriving in June and lasting into September—it is less hot but sometimes very humid. Winter is usually pleasant while the sun is out. It sometimes is foggy and overcast; then it can be chilly with temperatures below 10 °C (50 °F) but no frost. The highest temperature ever recorded in Nepalgunj was 45.0 °C (113.0 °F) on 16 June 1995, while the lowest temperature ever recorded was −0.3 °C (31.5 °F) on 9 January 2013.

SIMIKOT

Simikot is the administrative headquarters of Humla District of Karnali Zone in the mountain region of northwestern Nepal.

Day 1
Nepalgunj
Day 01: Arrival in Lucknow airport or train station pickup , drive to Nepalgunj3hrs drive, Transfer hotel to Cygnett Inn Krishna, Kitchen hut or similar, at dinner time program Briefing. Meal plain (B/L/D).
Day 2
Depart to Lucknow
Day 10: Departure transfer to Lucknow. Meal plain (B).
Day 3
Simikot
Day 02: Early morning flight to Simikot (45minute) rest for acclimatize for high altitude at Simikot afternoon walk around hill side meal plan (B.L.D).
Day 4
Tibet
Day 03: After breakfast shift to Helicopter and fly to Hilsa (Nepali border) 20 minute fly helicopter & pick up Shera border(walk 10minute) cross border and enter Tibet ,meet our Tibetan and Nepali crew and drive to Taklakot(3900m) 30 km, over night at Hotel Himalayan. Meal plain (B/L/D).
Day 5
Manasarovar
Day 04: Morning Drive 78 km. to Holy Lake Manasarovar (4500 M) and rest of day perform free for spiritual activities such as the abode of god will be a lifetime - achievement. Pooja, Havana worship, meditation, holy bath etc. Overnight stay Lodge at the shore of Lake Manasarovar. Meal plain (B/L/D).
Day 6
Manasarovar to Darchen
Day 5: Manasorovar to Darchen 30km. (4560 m):- After breakfast drive an Hour Darchen the base camp of Holy, Mt. Kailash. Rest of day free for acclimatization and preparing for circuit ( Parikarma ). Over night at Himalayan Hotel.
Day 7
Darchen to Diraphak
Day 06: Darchen to Diraphuk 18km. Parikarma/Cora begins drive 10 km. cover to Tarboche(yam dhwar) and trek up to walk approximately about 04/05 hour Diraphuk (4890m).Overnight stays at Guest house. Meal plan (B/L/D).
Day 8
Trek to Zuthulphuk
Day 07: Trek to Zuthulphuk (4790m) 22km. walk approximately 08 / 10 hours - Parikarma Continues, this is the day every pilgrims talks about, the most difficult journey through out the trip, Trek up to Dolma La pass(5600m). We will offer very short prayers at Dolmala and move towards Gaurikunda. They programmed in the same as usual, Zuthulphuk overnight stay at Guest house. Meal plain (B/L/D).
Day 9
Zuthulphuk to Taklakot
Day 08: Zuthulphuk to Taklakot via Manasarovar Lake. After Breakfast, we will trek around 8 km. We will be reaching at the point, where our jeeps will be waiting to drive us to Darchen, Parikarma ends. After Lunch we will drive to Taklakot via Manasoravar parikarma (circuit). O/N Guest house Meal plain(B/L/D).
Day 10
Nepalgunj
Day 09: Early morning Drive to Nepal border, As soon as possible fly Helicopter to Simikot and then same day connect flight back to Nepalgunj overnight stay at hotel. Meal plain (B/L/D).
